Privacy policy
This page explains exactly what this website stores about you, why, and how to have it removed. It describes what the software actually does.
What we collect, and when
If you take the free level test: your answers, your estimated level and score, the language you took it in, and — if you told us — why you need English. No name, phone or email is required to take the test or to see your result.
If you enrol or contact us: your name, phone number, email address, the course you are interested in, your preferred class time, any message you write, and your consent to be contacted, with the date and time it was given.
Automatically, on every visit: your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the page you arrived on, and the website or advertisement that sent you (including any campaign tags in the link). This is how we know which of our adverts actually work.
If you become a student: your enrolment, class, attendance, progress and payment records.
Cookies
We set a session cookie so the site remembers you between pages, a cookie for your chosen language, one for your chosen currency, and — if you arrived through a partner's referral link — one recording that referral. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Who else sees it
Your data is stored in our database on our hosting provider's servers. Beyond that, it is shared only with services we have connected in order to serve you, and only the minimum needed:
- An email provider, if we send you email.
- An SMS provider, if we send you a text message.
- A mailing-list provider, only if you agreed to marketing.
- Microsoft Teams, to run your classes.
When you contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy terms, not ours. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
Marketing, and stopping it
We only send marketing email or SMS if you explicitly agreed to it. Every marketing message carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and the system checks your consent at the moment of sending — so if you unsubscribe, a message already queued for you will not be sent.
Messages about a course you have actually enrolled in are not marketing, and will still reach you.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that never become enrolments are kept while they are still useful to follow up, and deleted on request at any time. Student and payment records are kept for as long as we are required to keep business records.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Contact us and we will act on it. If you ask for deletion, we will remove everything we are not legally required to keep.
Children
This site is not intended for children to sign up on their own. A parent or guardian should enrol on their behalf.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page.
